Antenatal care
Most of the doctors at the practice see patients for antenatal and postnatal care during their routine surgeries.
Please pick the doctor of your choice and tell the reception staff it is for antenatal care so
they can book you an appropriate appointment.
If you are planning a pregnancy, please book a blood test to check that you are immune to Rubella. Please remember to take folic acid 400mcg from when you decide to conceive until you are 12 weeks pregnant.
We provide shared antenatal care. If you choose shared care between the hospital and the GP, you can choose which hospital you would like to provide antenatal services and where you have your baby. The hospitals that we usually refer patients to are: Queen Charlotte's in Hammersmith and Chelsea and Westminster hospital.
If you already know where you want to have your baby, the GP can make the referral at the first consultation.
However, if you are unsure, take time to think about it and make an appointment with your GP to let them know.
Remember, you will need to be seen at the hospital at around 11 weeks and you must allow time before this for
us to send the referral and the hospital to send the appointment letter.
