Medical emergencies such as a broken arm, a road traffic accident, or severe chest pain should visit their nearest accident and emergency hospital; Charing Cross hospital or Chelsea and Westminster hospital, or telephone 999.

If you have been unwell overnight or an illness has rapidly developed and you are worried by the condition and need advice then you can be seen on the same day by one of our GPs.This service is provided only for our registered patients.

The service has only so much capacity and cannot cope with every single patient who might like to be seen today, rather it is for people who need to be seen the same day owing to the severity or potential severity of their problem. We do however have people using the service for minor things they have had for several months such as a slight rash or itchy ear. The service should not be misused by patients that have minor complaints as we cannot cope with everyone and it can lead to the serious cases being delayed. We would ask patients to be considerate. Patients who genuinely believe they need to be seen urgently or that are frail through age or disability or the young such as babies or young children will always be welcome to use this service.

Patients that have a long term condition, such as back-ache for example, should use one of our routine appointments to see a doctor.

How does the service work?

You call the practice by phone or in person and a receptionist will add your name to the list of patients to be contacted. Patients who visit the practice that are not frail or vulnerable will be asked to return home and wait by the phone. The doctor will call you by phone and determine the best treatment for you. This may necessitate your coming to the practice to be examined by the doctor or you may simply be given advice. The GP may prescribe medication for you and you will simply need to collect the prescription from reception. Note that the doctor will deal with the most urgent cases first, so there may be a delay in your being contacted. The service starts at 09:30 and finishes at about 18:30.
